Treasure Oud Royal Kalakassi. A truly wonderful Hindi. Initially starts with a velvety background of dark citrus with plenty of smoked spices with just the right amount of bite. I complex oil with plenty of barn to satisfy the Hindi oud cravings but not in any offensive way. The animalic are...

Today was an oil I have not worn in a while. Yoshi. A very perfumy clean Hindi oil. Totally different style of non barn from the Chugoku’s and Lavanya’s of the world. Definitely more accessory note style oil but very fun and enjoyable.

As I suspected, I am glad somebody was willing to send you a pic of their sample vial. I suspect I know who it is. My accuracy is dead on. Keep in mind, even though I am a spine surgeon, I am still an Orthopedist who has operated on at least a 1000 hands in my career. That is not a hand of a...

Here is what I know with 100% accuracy. As of yesterday, there were 5 people that either had a bottle of H1 or a sample. One was myself. The second is in North America. A third in the UK. I know for a FACT, none of these people shared the oil with Ensar. The other two people received samples...

So lets put aside the hypothetical that I know who got samples of H1 and when. By your own words regarding Chugoku Senkoh from it's EO page (The absence of accessory notes (flowers, honey, fruits…) is deliciously evident in its unitone note of resinous vapor), it would be illogical to agree with...

So here is the thing, the only way @Ensar could have smelled the H1 would be because the oil is so vaporous and lively you can smell it from KL all the way to Singapore. So I am calling the bluff.

Excellent write-up Simla! I really enjoyed reading it. My experience with the Hindustan has only been on several good wearings but what I get is a top to bottom prism of layered scent elements which to my nose cover the essence of Hindi agarwood. With the remarkably crisp mountainous air and the...

    S. Mahabali is a base and heart oil in a big way. Some very deep notes with the dark cherry and spices underpinning. Great stuff!

Oud Yunus. What a monumental hindi oud oil. Absolutely firing on all cylinders. Aged but vibrant, potent and energetic. This is the real deal.

Nha Trang is one of those oils when you need something special. The cost is stratospheric but you realize why when you experience what this oil is and does. It is something to truly treasure.

    Oud Biz: Real Talk

Looking at some of the wild wood for your 2017 distillation seen in your Facebook video https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1106219319480975&id=100002787515014 , some of the chips look similar to the 7 year old ones in the video from the shop. How did you determine wild vs farmed?

No question there must be a paradigm shift of marketing on the street store retail market, as the video clearly demonstrates. But is that where distillers go to source raw materials? Pay the retail prices? By my rough calculations, that farmed Kyen that is $800 would result in oil costing over...

Ayu is really a strange bird. The best way I can describe it is like a parrot with chameleon abilities. It just keeps changing to ever more brilliant plumage. I swear this oil is the Oud equivalent of A.I. By far the most psychoactive oil I have tried. It is crazy good.

Hindustan No.1 This is an oil which is hard to describe. In some way it like no hindi I have smelled and in another way its like most of the good Hinid's I have smelled, combined. As an overall scent assesment, this oil has so much going on it is difficult to fully try to comprehend. What is...

Tha hardest question in the world??

Easy answer. Oils by default, since I have no wood. :D Edit: the “no wood” comment above is not 100% accurate. But my oil collection to wood ratio is like 99:1

Pilipinas 1. Echoing my discussion with Shabby, this oil just haunts you. There is a serenity to this oils effect on the wearer, but in an exhilerating sense. It is like a window to a higher level of awareness with its own stepladder to help you look through. It is a transcendantal experience...

Keeping with the Hindi motif, (and yunus being one of the best I have), today it’s a revisit with Meitei old Manipur from Zak. What a spectacular aged Hindi. Smoked beef, pepper, spices, incense, deliciously integrated hints of animalic Hindi goodness.
