Revisiting EO: Tigerwood Royale. This one is such a blast of camphor and oudyoudness! Rogue thought... Perhaps the tree was home to Oudy Oudpecker? It's a joy!

    Covid Recovery

I am recovered. Finally my nose is back to normal or perhaps even better than before. It has been a frustrating and long road but using OTC drugs (only in 'murica. 'Murica!) and some very strong suppliment use my sense of smell is back. Reviews to follow.

I still have shortness of breath, disjointed smell with some aromas but apart from that I got very lucky.

I will need time to process it, some ouds are mono-tonal (not monotonous!) and DQ is really hard to wrap my head around with one wearing. I think 'rona has messed with my sense of smell, it's so much harder to put the pieces together.

Oud Oil Reviews - MAIN THREAD

EO: Dhul Q. The opening is umani, funky vegetals mixed in with smoke and aged chinese fungi. It gradually lengthened into a dark incense creation backed by the darkest roots of wood. I will have to spend tomorrow on this too.

Disclaimer: I have had covid confirmed once by antibody testing in the past year, and possibly once before early in the year with a carrier that came direct from Asia, both times only moderately ropey. My sense of smell & taste have been somewhat affected but are improving slowly therefore the...

FO Parfum De Santal. My opinion of this has slightly changed, since opening the bottle it seems to have mellowed and yet gained strength and clarity. Liking it more and more.

I just now spied your impressive posts, you are certainly welcome to these here parts despite the fact that you are just a poor boy from a poor family. Hopefully Oud will refine you somewhat. Also, try the sampler from EO, your mind will never be the same after applying one every day.

Oud Thaqueel 2015. Sniffing the vial there is a hint of barn that almost entirely vanished on contact with my skin. Initial application is camphorous almost in a EO Tigerwood '95 kind of style but much more rough, raw and unready, however there is no denying it's potency. On the edges are...

    Ensar Oud in commercial perfume??

Now that we are on the subject of extreme nutrition... Mankind evolved in the area where the barren great rift valley is now. In that geological and climatological period who can only guess at the verdant and nutrient rich bounty we had to feast on? Certainly lots of berries, roots and leaves...

Claypot Trat 2017. Upon application to four hours later the scent remains constant and expresses powdered lilac, a hint of dried lavender if it were from an 18th century apothecary. Also present is a phenolic note curiously bound to fermenting fruits. It reminds me somewhat of EO Oud Yusef...
