I have not tried any other electric heater other than KZ original Subitism heater, which was reputed to be one of the best heater in the market. It excel because of its rapid heater transfer and coupled with a voltage adjustable circuit, it is an excellent and cheap heater to appreciate the finer nuances of fragrance woods!
But 玉兰花 is on a different league altogether!
Definitely one of the most elegant and aesthetic heaters in the market! Comes with a cleaning brush, a bamboo forceps and its own storage pouch.
Battery operated and portable. It fits one hand easily!
The heating and cooling mechanism is insanely fast! Did a quick measurement, the heater is able to achieve a heating/cooling rate of 1 degree Celsius under 1 sec. Best of all, the output is in degree Celsius and it can go up to 260 degree. I am currently heating the Mysore sandalwood (excellent vintage wood from Jared, Alshareef) at 120 degree and the wood is bursting with rich buttery aroma without any burnt smell at all. Will increase at an interval of 10 degree to determine the burnt point of sandalwood.
I like the placement area for the wood chip. Unlike the Subitism Heater whereby the heating element is exposed and can ruin your smell if you place your nose too close to it, you can hardly feel any heat radiating from this heater.
According to the manual, the battery can last for 3-4hrs at high temperature, 5-6hrs at medium temperature and at least 12hrs at low temperature. I presume 120 degree to be medium temperature and on paper I can appreciate my sandalwood for continuously up to 6hrs. Sweet! There is also a monitoring to indicate the battery status. -00: battery flat; -10: battery full
