mixing ouds from the same batch. good or bad?

i have recently rediscovered an oil i have called korinoor from agaraura. i wanted to have more than the 2 mls i had left and found someone selling it here. i bought it and had a wonderful transaction with the seller(would highly recomend him). i tried a dab of each on both wrists and they smelled the same. well like an idiot i poured them together in one bottle and now it smells different. i had a nice chocolate carmel odor profile wich i liked but now theres an additonal fruity note that wasnt in either before mixing. so my suggestion is even if you have oil from the same batch they could have aged differently and you would prob like them both as 2 different oils. i got lucky in that i can live with the extra note but wish i would have been more careful and not mixed them. to be honest i think i like it better but, would rather have 2 seperate oils and, odor profiles.

i am 100% sure the oils are from the same batch but, prob aged different or bought at different times. i do not think this is a case like ensar mentions in his blog about the different oils all with the same name like, 'Thaqeel' that are clearly different batches of oil.

Hmm, I've never sold an oil called Korinoor or Koh-i-Noor, or that oil under any other name. Koh-i-Noor was a product from Amit, of RKSons. : p
I haven't sold any Indian ouds close to the scent of that oil either. He doesn't distill my oils, and if you smell my Assamese and Meghalayan ouds, you'll see that the sources of wood are very different, and thus the smell too.

From what I recall, there were indeed 2 or 3 different batches of Koh-i-Noor. They smelled more or less the same, but did have some differences batch to batch.

Taha, Oops your right it was from agarwoodoil.com, i had to look it up. i was sure it was agaraura this whole time. sorry if i have offended you by this mistake.

well im very please with my mistake after freaking out about it for 24hours. i wouldnt recommend my technique of just dumping them together first without doing a small test.

as for the kor-i-noor i love it, its a sillage monster, bound to grab the nostrils of anyone close to you. after the mixing its got all the same notes but a smoother fruit note now that fits right in and adds to the oils complexity.

my bottle has been stored for over 2 years so mines much older and has evolved with time. it was good when i got it and real nice now. just hold on to your bottle for 2 years and you will see it change(if its the same as the oil i got in 2010 made from 2 types of inscense grade wood.) to something better.

ive been searching for more kor-i-noor for months and all i can find is an outdated ad by alaibaba. ive tried contacting amit through his co email to re stock my supply, and they have not replied back. then low and behold you just got a fresh bottle. please sir tell me who sells this oil? ive been paying well over the price for used bottles. i'll glady buy some and see if it smells close to the stuff from 2 years ago. thanks for posting! you may think its crap but i love it and, thank you for finding it again for me. please provide the link...
