Oh alright, you Canadian diplomat. A Sultan Süleyman special is now officially in effect for all orders going to Canada. Only the 3g option is on sale at a whopping $1,000 off. Just write “Rasoul Lobby” in the comments and you will get $1,000 credited back to your credit card or PayPal account.

As part of this sale, all non-Canadian customers please add $1,000 on top of the regular price when ordering Sultan Süleyman. The amount can be PayPaled directly, or if you pay by credit card we’ll just make an additional charge of $1,000 before sending your orders. ;)
@Arsalan let me know if you and Naveed are in.

This isblack Friday and then some. Santa visit on Black Friday.

@Rasoul S Thanks for not taking my post the wrong way! I certainly was kidding...
Almost forgot that you are not (yet) a fan of old school Hindi oils...:D

Totally understand what you mean about about impartiality, and i have seen many of your posts praising the work of other artisans as well.
Now i am relatively new to the oud world, and in the little bit of exposure i have had here it is clear that Ensar has just had the largest variety of offerings, and many that don’t really have any direct comparables. So its not really even about favouring one, its just they have a lot to offer across the board, and i guess being the pioneer in the artisnal oud world gives them the edge. Also, given the consistent quality of the oils brought to market, it is easy to see why Ensar Oud is the go to source for many. Perhaps in years to come the relatively new players will catch up...who knows what might be sitting in vaults & shelves aging away...
To add to that, i have found the customer service to be exceptional as well. When making my first couple of purchases i had contacted a couple of vendors, and some i heard back from, some provided partial responses, but Adam took the time to answer each one of my questions & concerns.
Also, i know some may disagree, but i really appreciate the write ups for the oils, even more so when i knew nothing about oud. It is a brilliant way to market oud, and the story makes it that much more special. Most of my full bottle purchases from Ensar have been blind, except when they sent samples of TW95 & TWR at my request, but the combination of the write ups plus forum posts were what i went by, and so far have not been disappointed...
Ensar & team’s passion & dedication is obvious.

Now i am yet to try any attars from Ensar, i did receive a sample of Borneo Zen...it was nice & i enjoyed it, but i’m here for the O.U.D. :D

In any market category, whether its cars, daily use stuff products, any product really...there is brand loyalty and certain aspects of the products or the producer that just click with us...when i was into knives (collecting mostly) i too favoured one company over all others, CRK, they made an excellent product, took years to perfect designs, attention to detail without compromise, had excellent customer service and a great warranty...(my insta account..don’t really post any more...https://www.instagram.com/416istoronto/). There are many others who may have similar attributes, however there was something about these guys that just really appealed to me...perhaps their attention to detail, design simplicity...the story...whatever....Although Chris has retired now, and the company now caters to customer demands that Chris may never had agreed to...
They make a knife called the Green Beret, for years when Chris was running the show, despite customer requests he never made one without serrations, as they were essential to the original design & intent of the knife. So even though they might have sold alot more of them, to stay true to the essence of the product, refused...its acually easier to produce to a plain edge..soon after his retirement, they made a plain edge...Wow i went off track!

Bottom line we all have our favourites & there is absolutely nothing wrong with that...

Anyways The spirit of my posts is to be truthful to myself and my nose/brain wiring first. Then to enriches others experiences. Oud has brought much joy in my life and helps greatly to deal with my chronic pain and agony. It helps brighten the dark cloudy string of weeks with no sun, that vancouver is famous for and it helps brings a ray of sunshine in an otherwise dark political/economical climate around us in today’s age.

I want nothing from Ensar Oud or the likes but one thing. I want them to know there are a few that truly dedicate the time and energy to appreciate their craft. Their meticulousness and ocd is not going un-noticed. Also I like to help keep their embers and fire of creativity burning. If mozart’s Audience were all deaf, Mozart wouldn’t have made what he continued to churn out.

Being ciritical if and when truly deserving and when it can be constructive of course is a must.
Totally agree with the above points. Your views, input & reviews are much appreciated...

Bro, i just got a bunch of wood...:(
Suleyman will have to be .001gr sample for me... :D
I respect your restraint. Hopefully you manage to one day meet sultan sulayman for it is a remarkable creation. Museum worthy.

Imagine if there as a Oud scent gallery. People go to it for olfactory pleasures. A chamber where one sticks their face into and get to see the opening note, progression note and drydown of an oud. #daydreaming

Museum is putting it lightly. More like world heritage oud. Two wears in two days for me and I've had to show the utmost restraint today. There is a level of intrigue to this oil matched by none that I've had a chance to smell.

God willing bro! Will look forward to that!

Enjoy the journey. Is not the destination but the process that is most fun.

i really appreciate the write ups
Me too!

I imagine that if I were to sell some of my creations..... I would take the write ups seriously!

Not so much for marketing either, I just want the buyer to know what they’re getting, from an experience standpoint mainly, not so much from raw facts. That way, the creation can be appreciated properly, and not just dissected.

So when you read Ensar’s write ups, you get his heart and soul, not just raw facts. If you look into his grammar, you’ll miss the literature.
Like when reading a poem, I try to feel it, not understand it.

Just like a person’s degree of perception....you either get it, or you don’t :p

Absolutely. Beautifully put. Presentation is an important part of the experience. So is the great website. The visuals. The Ecomm software. The fast delivery. The kind sample vial gifts. Do all of this and your oil is mediocre plus or just good won’t work. But when your oil speaks for itself and it also comes with the whole package of other positive attributes, then the overall experience skyrockets.

I am wrapping up the evening with kyarazen Central Kalimantan incense grade or higher powdered (fine grind) agarwood:
The first oil immediately jumping to mind is kinamantan. The resemblance is uncanny. That high pitched egeteral green vanilla woodsy mossy ferny note.

Great score for 20gr pack. Gonna blend with couple other things and make some pressed cones. Holiday project.

EO Nha Trang “Anthole” - Can’t find the words to describe the aroma atm, perhaps a few more sessions to become more familiar...but very enjoyable & relaxing...
there were a lot of small pieces so crushed up a little in a miniature mortar & pestle, low heat...seems like crushing it really brings out the aroma...

Fave after HK Purple Kinam....obviously the Ceram 97 is pretty tasty, but i loved the Zesty note of the Sumatran Aceh as well. All were fantastic, what to say??? (Drool emoji)
true. hard to not be impressed by awesome proper Aceh wood. for me though that red resin almahera wood is very special. by far the most unique agarwood note. imagine juicing it into a super oil.
