1985: Oud Royale vs. Encens Royale

#1
Question for those who have tried both, OR ’85 and Encens Royale...how different are they?
From old posts it sounds like they were sister distillations with a similar profile...
If given the opportunity would you go for one of these or one of the latest & greatest Royale or Senkoh oils...?
Any input is appreciated, thanks!

I missed my chance to buy Oud Royale 85 when it was made available again briefly in early 2017, so I can't give you my opinion on that one, nor can I comment on Encens Royale 85 (yet), but I'd like to extend my thank-you to Ensar after a personal request to make ER85 available again for us oud fiends in Vancouver was kindly accepted.
Thankfully, I now see this offer has been extended to the everyone else as well.
They don't make oud like this anymore, and I'm eagerly awaiting the first swipe!

Very excited to treat my nose to Encens. It wouldn't have been possible without a re-release. Thanks, Ensar team.

Seems like I will get a chance to compare these myself! Thanks team EO for making ER85 available again!

Guys, is this some sort of prank? I was told to check the forum quick and address the trolling that was going down. All I see is praise and thank you notes..... :D

Thank YOU everyone, for being such an awesome sport! :)

Ensar described Encens Royal as OR85's brother - I would say it is OR85's older brother :D. A tad bit drier, a serious oil (read: fantastic). Whereas I find OR85 to be a teeeeny bit more lively and exhibiting a teeeeny hint of an aged Malaysian profile in the opening. Mabrouk on this momentous release. Can only count on EO to release such antique oils (will get flack for that last segment, whatever...)

I own the two and the big difference is that ER85 is drier and more spicy than OR85 which feels more "damp and wet" and therefore a little more complex if you ask me. I feel ER85 is probably easier to wear but many times I end up reaching for OR85 when I am alone at home.

They certainly share the same scent profile.
