EO Assam organic on one hand and EO Assam 05 on another.

Few seconds in and I knew I had made a mistake going head to head. One oil always suffers unfairly.

Long story short I am not into Assam oils despite how many I try and from far and wide producers. Some are really nice but none grab me enough to make me crave them and keep wanting to put my nose to my wrist.

I shall take a break from them and come back in few months or later and start fresh. Press reset.

To counteract I swiped a Mysore sandal from tony Bolton. Nice sandal even mysorian but not at top level. Grade b+. His frangipani in sandal perfume is lovely though. Really strongly recommended.
Give the Hindis another shot in the coldest moments of winter. ;)

Today multiple Hindi day. I’ve been really enjoying this oil from Tony Bolton at Agar Aromas, it’s called Hindi Supane. Really nice balance of leather, fermented red fruits, hay and the dry down is just amazing. I like to put a swipe on my chest before bed and in the morning I’m greeted with this warm, deep leather/hay/barn.
Also wearing a bit of Hindi Asli from Adam at FO. This one is interesting, but I’m not sure I can speak about it until it worn it a few more times. Definitely a FO product, let’s say, outside the box.

Multiple Hindi day is always a good idea in my book. Welcome!

Today it is Kinam Rouge and Sutera Ungu. The KR is a very interesting oil because it seems to hide its origin to me somewhat. There are some oils, e.g. Chiem Po Chai, Khmer Special K, Kanzen which are Cambodian but smell more like Vietnamese Ouds. The KR is the other was around. It is a Viet oil which to me has more of the reddish Cambodi profile. As the dry down ensues, it does give up its heritage a bit more. Extremely high quality stuff.
The Sutera Ungu is one I only have a sample of. The opening is very unusual but very nice. The deep woody dry down is just amazing.

really funny you say that. i had felt this too. i also, call me crazy, get a subtle layer of malay. not tigerwood or south, but north malay. i quite like this oil. if i humbly may speak, of all oils bearing the name kinam or mention of it, i feel kinam rouge is least deserving of it. pls note "least" and not "not". it is still accurate naming. and to ensar's credit is also priced lower. none matters, after a sample i made a 0.75 gram vial purchase. so i guess you can tell i really like it.

I stil have yet to try Kinam Rouge, but I have no doubt it is beautiful, as many respected noses here have proclaimed.
I remember @bhanny saying how he couldn't believe this one was still available.
Note to self: Get on that.

I started this week saturated in oud. I prepared 14 samples of oud for a newbie to experience. It's soooo time consuming and too much hand washing to avoid x-contamination. But at least, I'm blissed-out. So to take it up a notch, my swipe of the day...Berkilau......BAM!!!

I have probably given away over 300 free samples this year. Just call me the Diplomat from Oudville:)

I agree with the above commentators, Kinam Rouge is a very special beastie with an intense and complete aromatic cloud.

I recall that universal appreciation of this was present à là Purple Kinam, quite the crowd please as well as having wonderful depth for the Oudlover.

My SOTD was also a Hindi, FO Dr. Hindi, to be exact. It's cherry tabac helped me through a mile trek with Dutch Drizzle with all three monsters, one on my shoulders, to view a school. I took an additional swipe for the return journey.

There is something very comforting about a hindi in miserable weather, a touch of the tropic by the North Sea.

That's the most beautiful thing I've heard all day, @Oudamberlove.
Way to spread the gospel! :D
