Today I am wearing the beautiful EO's Satori Kensho. The smaller brother of the beautiful Jing Shen Lu. The kyen in this oil is very apparent. I remember back in the day (a lifetime ago) my dad, would tell me to rake the leaves, mixed with pine cones and yellow leaves there would be this beautiful aroma coming out of that pile. The Satori Kensho reminds me of that pile of leaves, which I would go jump on afterwards.

This week was absolutely nutty and I can't tell you all how many posts were aborted due to one thing or another. I'm going wrap up with the oils that got play this week.
1. Kyara LTD Private - prototype of Royal Kinam v2 (erroneously thought it was prototype for Kyara LTD v2, Ensar kindly didn't call me out, he notified me privately) - this stuff is literally magical golden elixir that rained down from heaven.
2. Kinam Rouge - I'm not sure how this isn't sold out. Complex, juicy, red, medicinal kinam.
3. China Sayang - no need to say more
4. Sultan Mustafa - delicious blue-green berried sweetness with a seaside twist. Amazing.
5. Royal Vietnam - Feel Oud - topnotes that sing with the Sultans on a beautiful Vietnamese base.
6. Sinensis - Imperial Oud - my favorite IO offering - spicy, sweet - again, has some similarities with a Hainan Kinam skin tincture I made.
7. Borneo 3000 - prettiest thing around
8. Ceylon No1 - pushing Borneo 3000

There were a few more, will post as I recall!

When I rise n shine later, I will try Imperial Oud's unreleased yet Konbaung, their third Burmese oil. I have the first one, Aarai Ko Shway, now I'm curious how this new one stacks-up against it.

Nice list bhanny! I'm not sure how I haven't gone ahead and gotten some Kinam Rouge by this point - I think it's in my future..

Haven't tried Sinensis from IO yet either - did enjoy their Sinharaja oil this week though, which is another beautiful Sri Lankan oud - over on the Ouddict forum there was a topic about which of the 3 Imperial Oud Sri Lankan's people preferred - this one may be mine, though Adhirajya is sensational also..

Kyara de Kalbar really stood out for me this week in terms of my oud experiences, that one has what you could call a psychotropic effect on me - many ouds are like this, they don't necessarily bring up specific images of nature or anything, but there is a consciousness shift of some sort..

KdK definitely psychotropic for me. As is Borneo Diesel. Purple Kinam is a little.

And hello Mokokchung girls! And papa. Can't wait to meet you all. Of course Syed Series Indian oils, hmm. Though I'm still hoping you'll cook a little of that kinam man.
For now, the Brunei looks like a no-go.
But I have back-to-back distillations running at home planned out for the next several months. Sulawesi, Maluku, Malinau, Cambodian, (wild) Thai, Lao, Vietnamese, Indian (yessss! The package passed customs!!!).

If you've been spinning that globe in your office trying to plan your next vacation, maybe a biased spin-and-point is in order? ;)

COTM (coffee of the morning): 4 espresso shots of Elephant Hills Indian coffee. Many thanks to Taherg for telling me about this unusual coffee. By the way, Taherg himself has been rising in ranks rather quickly, after I twisted his arm into getting a full prosumer espresso setup for his home. :p
@Taherg, do tell- now that you are doing the roasting, grinding and everything yourself, are you able to better appreciate the complexities of artisanal oud distillations?

Wow, excited about these upcoming oils Taha! Speaking of which - Chamkeila and Lalitya are my SOTD so far - both are superb - Lalitya is one of my very favorite oils ever, such a distinct scent profile.. It's an earthen scent, but not dirt and so forth - more like the essence of the thing from which flowers and fruits grow - a floral smell before the flower has bloomed, or a fruit smell before the tree has grown..

PEARL - great image for this oil! I think some Sultan Ahmet may be in your future, if you're loving the Sultan Sufyan - exquisitely beautiful oil that adds a much more so blue-green aquatic quality than SS - but equally as other-worldly smelling.. The oils made form those New Guinea trees that went into the Sultan Series oils have such a distinct and remarkable scent profile, really unreal..

Last night was the incredible Oud Isa. What can I say about this oil? Hindi perfection in a bottle.
Today was inderapura encens from AA and Kynam Emerald. The Emerald gives me something different every time I smell it. Fascinating and amazing oil.

I went with Kyara de Kalbar. There really is a psychotropic element to this 5MeO. So then I swiped a bit of the Diesel and the overall effect is similar. Great oils.

Well, Konbaung starts off with almost the same opening as Aarai Ko Shway but very quickly develops a rich sweetness. The distillation style is similar. The sweetness is sort of fruity, an image of white peach comes to mind, but not peachy, more like light flesh fruits. As AKS dries down to it's slightly woody resin note, Konbaung doesn't let up, it keeps pumping it's sweetness for a couple more hours then gently fades. As for Kinamic notes, the overall profile does not suggest it, but there is a little. There are days when oils of this genre really hit the spot, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh:rolleyes:

Excellent!!! Looks like a great lineup. Especially keen to hear about that Vietnamese!

SOTD: AA Berkilau ... probably my favourite oud sampled from AA, unfortunately didn't get time to get a full bottle :( so I cherish my sample vial very dearly, and int he meantime don't want it to oxidise ... so a bit of a dilemma

I am not sure I came across a similar oud, maybe EO Purple Kinam? then again I only sampled it on the oud fest while smelling at least 10 other things on my arms. Anyways PK is definitely one I need to at least get a sample of
