Appropriately, TWIS' Summer Solstice, with an undercoating of FO OST because obviously a day without any Oud is a day wasted.

Walking around in the heat I have certainly enjoyed it's heavenly fennel uplift held aloft with bold strokes of blossoms.

Today I put on the Cambodi Supreme for the first time. What a beautiful Cambodi! The sweet notes are unlike any notes I have picked up before. It has a beautiful Apple cider vinegar smell coupled with the Cambodi oudhness which makes people love Cambodi Oudh so much. Simply gorgeous.

Cambodi Supreme?? DO tell my friend!

Sticking with the Cambodi theme. Koh Kong 76. Oh man oh man. This oil does not get much mention but is a spectacular scent. Top to bottom, this is just so satisfying. Not your typical tutti frutti Cambodi by any means. Deep, dark, spicy, yet with a delicate beauty. Seamless and sublime.

Wow that sounds nice! The CS is a very different Cambodi. Very bittersweet delicious type. Not harsh at all in anyway. Something you can wear anywhere and get the surprise look on peoples face type of Oudh!

Today I put on the beautiful and holy Assam Kinam. This Hindi is one of my truly favorite of them all. The barnyard in this Oudh calls you towards it and never once is that over powerful.
This Oudh is/was a gem and I get so happy whenever I apply this on.
I am going almost 8 years strong on my bottle and I have to make the remaining last another 10 years.

This evening I put on the incomparable Sultan Salman. This oil is extremely nice from start to finish. It opens with beautiful sweet notes and then begins to build an extremely seductive bittersweet blue green oceanic accord. An incredible Oud. Thanks Ensar for this treasure!!

The DHL ealge has landed and Chiem Po Chai is in da house. This, like Taha's Khmer Special K, is a most unusual Cambodi. There is no tutti fruity smell, not even any fruity smell. No fermented notes. What it has is a very unique "red" incense notes. This is not an accessory note oud oil and to my nose seems to be mostly a resin oil. It is very smoky but not is any way similar to Aroha. It has a much less of a 'burnt' character. There is almost a dusty accord which I find extremely seductive.
This is an absulute home run oil, and along with Sulan Salman, rank as some of the finest and most sophisticated Ouds I have experienced.

I was also very fortunate and blessed today as a very generous member here ( Hint Hint at anonymous) sent me more than a sample of 2 exquisite oils. Number 1 was the beautiful Hindi Oudh known as Yoshi. This Oudh never failed at its beauty and being from the manipur region in India, you know this one is special.
Number 2 was Kinam Rougue! I had yet to smell this beautiful Oudh and upon smelling its beauty, I understood Ensar's statement at giving at the price he was giving! One of the best Vietnamese Oudh I have ever come across. I haven't worn it yet but can't wait to do so. More impressions to come after applying this beauty!

Harita is the Oud of the afternoon for myself and my son for our afternoon round of golf on this hot summer day. If there is a better oud for being out in the sun in summer heat, then I am not aware of it. This oil is as refreshing as a cool glass of iced tea. Lovely sweet green melon intertwined with bright cool minty notes. He loved it. I loved it.
I am really beginning to appreciate these Sri Lankan Ouds. So different from any other region but also very different from each other.

This morning could not resist another swipe of the Chiem Po Chai. That is an oud for the ages and clearly a one of a kind.

Wow nice Dr congrats on acquiring the Harita! Does it have the walla patta scent which is common in Sri Lankan Oudhs? Is there any mango notes?

Thanks my brother! Well Harita does have some mango notes but the green sweet melon scent profile is definitely more prominent. Not sure if I am truly up on what the walla patta scent is to be honest. Harita strikes me like a cross of sri lanka and borneo ouds. Really interesting, refreshing and high quality oil, especially for the price. Summer in bottle.
I will try to check with Taha about the walla patta aspect.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

So here is a copy of Taha' text inquiring about the walla patta scent. He says there are 3 varieties of this scent. Harita has the first in spades.

Text:
one is super Borneo-ish (like Harita)

one is super spicy (like a batch I wanted to release but wholesaled off)

one is super honeyed (like Ceylon 1)
