Sote: Mr Zak's Lushai Hills. Aged Wild Woods singing the Kalakassi Tone through the breath of Oud Gods. Phenonemal Oil. 6th application today and I think its a LEGEND. Beats all my Hindis to dust. And at an unimaginable price. Almost has the Burmese Zen kick putting things in 6th drive. Lurking sweet Kinami notes blowing my fuse away. Phew ! Is this Hindi 2.0 ?
Lushai Hill is an oil that grows on you a lot. It has a unique profile which is quite complex. I am really digging the Meitei old Manipur. Really nice Hindi as well with more classic barn notes but still unique.

Very very true dear sir. Really grew on me with focused listening. Meitei and Baraka are brilliant too. Classic themed but ultrasmooth

Sultan Mustafa - EO. It's got this lip-smackingly delicious, sweet and sour, tart, berried, aroma. I perceive it as blue-green. Just a tad oceanic.

Its like sitting on a small strip of beach, a dense jungle behind, sipping some exotic drink made from an ancient recipe, using some fruit only found on this particular island. AMAZING.
Waiter... what's your name again? Oh, Bhanny is it?

Well, be a good chap and bring me a pitcher of that cocktail you were imbibing earlier.

Today, I was sitting on a small stretch of beach where I could have well done with a glass or twelve of your olfactory beverage, the wonderfully named Slaughter Beach on the Delaware coast. Me and bratlings watched some baby horseshoe crabs in the bay, those 450 million year old living fossils.

While I was fending off splash and sand attacks I also frequently enjoyed a minute swipe of FO: Din Dang as the day wore on. Being beside the water certainly altered my perception of it, at times it seemed if I had swiped Blue Malau. It was a perfumed experience mixed in with the suntan lotion and lemonade.

FO Purple Koh Chang + Ajmal Dahn al Oud Amiri. Modern Plantation + Vintage Wild. Well for all practical purposes and peace of mind. I dont really care about the stories that come along with the oils anymore. I ve realised that these most of the times dont contribute anything to my olfactory experience and Source/Rarity/Age/Technique/Distiller/Presentation...are fancy tags to engage the user. The ultimate thing is the feel of the Oil. Whether its able to engage the senses and provide a sense of deep satisfaction to the soul. I dont want it give me Kinami Vibes and all that Jazz if it doesn't help me focus and appreciate finer olfactory threads woven by nature. The subtle naughty nuances that flirt with my emotional center or sometimes put me into deep contemplative Zen mood. PKC is brilliant Thai Sunshine. Deep honeyed fruits with an intense umami Oud Aroma polished by aging. On the other hand is another aged untamed wild beast who s pure and innocent. Deep intense arousing feral note of Hindi Wood turning into pure Gold while itdevelops on the skin. I am blessed to have Oud/Aoud/Oudh/Aoudh in my life !#letsmakeoudsimpleagain

EO - Tigerwood Royale
Such a beauty. A must have.
I lost a vial in a Fairfax recently, probably in a coffee shop.
I hope whomever finds this treasure falls in love with it, as I did.
Hopefully they will read the label on the vial and look up Ensar's website and begin their own journey down the oud rabbit hole ;)
A fragrant message in a bottle not from a lost soul looking to be saved, but from someone in olfactory paradise spreading the gospel.

Suriranka Senkoh - EO. Wow. Mr. Coburn and I had a mix-up, mostly my doing per the usual, and this was shipped instead of a bottle of Chugoku I had saved for me. Chugoku was shipped and the Suriranka was supposed to be held and returned by DHL. Well..needless to say it arrived last week. So while we tried to work everything and figure what to do, sweet little Suriranka sat in my kitchen, sad and lonely, calling out to me at all hours, day and night.

Oh how I wanted to take a generous swipe and make Suriranka feel loved. But alas, it was not yet mine, I simply could not swipe. After a few email exchanges with Adam and Ensar, it became clear that this little bottle of Suriranka was meant to be mine, so yesterday we finally formally met, and there was no disappointment.

It starts with the typical Walla Patta profile, to me a high-grade Borneo slathered with a bit of golden honey, but fairly quickly this one evolves. It takes on a slightly sour, blue-green hue. Those of you who know me understand when I say "sour" I mean it in the mostly complimentary way. There is a definite seaside vibe here. Ensar said "luscious seaweed blossoms abloom in pristine waters." That is quite an accurate description if you ask me. Great oil.

Sotd: Kalakassi 80 yrs old and FO Old School Kinam (Private). I think I am flying above the ground today. Sweet caramel leather of Agallocha and the bonfire smoke of heavenly Kinam. I thank God for giving us a natural wonderwood that can heal the wounds of the heart and mind. Farmers who nourish it. Distillers who extract the nectar like their own blood. What a beautiful world. One swipe of these two and life feels beautiful and the mind is focussed. Bahut Khoob.
