Chugoku Senkoh today. Non barn Hindi/Chinese combo is a just a beauty. I am slowly starting to realize that the oils which truly emphasize the scent of the resin as ones that I am really drawn to. Happy Monday ya'll!

Yep, I also live for the resin. That, or the meditative power of Vietmanese smelling ouds like Jing Shen Lu. :)

PS: Anybody know if brother Ensar does a discount if you buy multiple bottles of one oil in one order? If you bought a tola as 4 bottles... :)

Yep, Chugoku Senkoh for me today as well, first on the wrist, then neck, then, with complete abandon, all over the forearm...

That would be brother Adam Coburn (not to be confused with Russian Adam). Please drop him an email and he'll take good care of you. As for brother Ensar, he's not doing any selling these days. Too many oils to cook, too many distillations to be designed, as we strive to MAKE OUD CHEAP AGAIN, on top of making it exist again... Na'mean?

Berkilau was the first oud oil that made me think oud prices aren't totally ridiculous and I had tried 2-3 dozen different oils before then. At that point I was more interested in Taha's skills as a perfumer.

To be fair, I wouldn't pony up the cash for Ensar's top end oils so I have no basis for comparison. Recently, after trying Ceylon 1 I can see what spending more gets you.

This seems to be a downward (or upward) spiral! I did order Sinharaja, and am not 100% sure what to expect... :)

Xiang Liao Ling:
My first experience with this today.
This is a previously unknown variety, or style of oudh for me.
I imagine this aroma can only be found in nature, by trekking to a forest ecosystem far from human contact.
The forest floor is home to a damp, darkened earth, soaked with unknown wild herbs and medicine. The breezy canopy towering far overhead inhales notes of fresh green vegetation downward, to replenish the musty soil below. A meditation there can last for hours, and reward you with a new appreciation of the planet’s mysteries.
The dry-down is the slightly sweeter dew of the forest, still lingering on your skin and clothes. It recants the tale of the day’s trek, mixed with a soft, reddish glow from the warming comfort of home. Perhaps not an oudh for attending an office dinner party, but one better suited for the adventure of introspection.

Oh wow! What is his Kannan Koh Sir? Sounds delicious!
Kannan Koh is a Malaysian courtesy of our guy Ensar. Made of a ton (65%+) sinking grade wood. I put it in the same category as the great Sultani and Ensar says Oud Royale No1, I just haven't had the chance to try that piece of history. It is really beautiful and a jewel I have mistakenly undervalued in my collection.

Tonight?

Sultan Beyazit on the left. Man. This stuff is unreal. Pure high-grade New Guinea wood taken to a new level. "Sultan Thai 2" on the right. Watch out people. This one, and her sister, will change how you look at Thai oils. Zero tuti-fruitiness. 100% delicious highly resinated Thai wood awesomeness.

Wow I was just about to post that I wore the Xiang Liao Lang today also. You nailed it on the part from the forest, damp, soaked with wild herbs and medicine. I think those points were written with pin point accuracy. Simply awesome!
The dry down is where you can really tell this is a very high caliber Oudh. Meroke Ouds I wasn't too much into but I think that was my fault. Having smelled the legend purple papua and after being graced with this beauty my perspective of Meroke Ouds has changed to "I need this"
I think this Oudh would probably work wonders (transport you somewhere else) when your sitting down and doing Zikr (remembrance of Allah) or meditation!

Thank you, brother Koool.
I think I've found a new friend in Maroke Oud. I'll be keeping my nostrils on high alert in the future for similar distillations.
Isn't it beautiful to make new discoveries with these oils?
How we are blessed. Subhan Allah.

These Maroke oils are something, aren't they?!? I remember a similar response my first whiff of XLL. I was blown away. I love the ancient, primal, raw, green earthiness, unspoiled by human touch. Very meditative for me personally. I wear it generally when I will be at one with nature. The last just yesterday on a wonderful hike with my boys. It just flows so well.

Indeed, Doc.
I've had this stashed for a while, and only today decided to give it some focus.
I'd be happy to hear any of your suggestions or experiences with Marokes.

Since we are on a Merauke kick, which I am 100% in on, last night was Taha's Sultans Succor. A different take on Merauke, yet similarly satisfying. In this primal pristine forest floor, crisp drying leaves with an intense fragrance blend with rays of bright sunshine and fresh burning incense. So truly fortunate to have this in my collection.

So tonight it's ol' kesiro's "go big or go home" Oud extravaganza. Brunei Kinam, Royal Guallam, Vietnam Special K, Oud Nuh. The bliss and satisfaction from these scents can't be explained, only experienced.
Wowser!!! You ain't kidding, you went big bro. That truly is a blissful combination.

You know, I wish I had more experience. I did obtain some of the amazing Maroke LTD with a member here in a swap. A crude description would be to take XLL and add a dollop of sweet, gooey, golden sunshine. Beautiful stuff as well. I don't necessarily favor one over the other.

 Ouffff....!
@Ensar, is Royal Guallam the same as Guallam Liquide? I've been immensely enjoying the latter lately, thans so much for it!
@kesiro, did you mix apply them all in the same place, or create a 3D aura by applying on different spots? I rather enjoy the latter, as different body movement bequeath different whiffs.

In other news, I'm *still* trying to track down genuine Bruneian wood for distillation — no success yet. All the folks I know in Brunei (practically all the players there) get their wood from surrounding regions of Sarawak, e.g. Limbang, Lawas etc, even though its sold as 'Gaharu Brunei'. :(
